Theatre Arts II: Intermediate Acting

Welcome to Theatre Arts II! This class is an acting course designed to help students delve deeper into fundamental concepts introduced during Theatre Arts I, such as character development, genre, ensemble work, etc. Here we will delve into the ideas of motivation, intention, and tactics  to build a complex and truthful performance. We will explore the differences between comedy and drama, between classical and contemporary periods, in order to determine how these elements can inform a performance.

  • Unit 4: Scene Work
  • Unit 5: Critical Response (these assignments will be scattered throughout the year, encouraging students to pay attention to the purpose and impact of theatre in the world.)
